They say I give you too much power
True
What they don’t see is what you changed in me
That I don’t mind giving you all this power
Even when I know you can use it to hurt me
I’m told I’ve changed since I met you

What they don’t say is my confidence peaked
That I’m not afraid as much anymore
Only I know what you changed in me
Some would say I’m happier now

What they won’t say is they wish they did
All you did for me
For all I say is ‘He was there’
I know you don’t know you affected me this much

What you also don’t know is you were my first
In a lot of things including what I can never say
